Prenatal massage in Daly City, and how the hour is set up
Its own booking rather than an ordinary massage with cushions added. Side-lying, supported, no stones and no cupping — and a conversation with your own clinician first.
The short answer
Prenatal massage in Daly City is a separate booking worked side-lying and supported with cushions, never face-down on a standard table. It runs 60 minutes for $90 and 90 minutes for $130. Talk to your own clinician before booking, and tell us which trimester you are in.
- for 60 minutes, side-lying and supported
- $90
- for 90 minutes, the same position, unhurried
- $130
- the position for the whole session, not part of it
- Side-lying
- a Levoit unit running in every treatment room
- Air purifier
What should you do before booking?
Talk to the clinician looking after your pregnancy, and book only once they have said it is fine. That is the first line on this page rather than a footnote, because it is the part that actually matters and no studio can answer it for you.
NCCIH's guidance on choosing a massage therapist makes the same point in general terms: tell your health care providers about any complementary approach you use, so everyone has the full picture. During pregnancy that stops being general advice and becomes the whole basis of the booking.
We will ask which trimester you are in when you book, and again in the room. We are not making a clinical judgement with that question — we are setting the position and the pressure around your answer.
How is a prenatal session set up?
Side-lying for the whole session, supported with cushions, on an extra-wide table. Not face-down with a cut-out, and not face-up flat. The position is the reason this is a separate booking rather than an ordinary massage with a pillow added.
The table matters more than it usually would. Ours are oversized — wider and longer than the standard table — so lying on your side you are not balanced on a narrow surface with an arm hanging off the edge. Cushions go under the head, between the knees, and wherever else the shape of the day needs them.
Pressure stays moderate and is set by what you say, not by a protocol. If a spot is uncomfortable, saying so mid-session is expected rather than awkward.
NCCIH groups massage with the other mind and body practices, where the evidence is modest and mostly short-term. That is the honest size of what an hour here is, and it is the reason the clinical questions stay with your own provider.
What is left off, and why
Hot stones and cupping are not part of this booking. Both come free with most massages here; on prenatal they are deliberately left out, and that is a decision in the menu rather than something to negotiate at the table. If you want heat, say so and we will work with a warm towel instead.
Scent and air
Every treatment room runs its own Levoit air purifier for the length of the session, filtering dust, pollen and airborne particles. If scent is turning your stomach this month, ask for unscented oil when you book and that is what will be on the table.
What should you tell the therapist?
The trimester, anything your clinician has told you to avoid, and where you actually want the hour spent. Most people say lower back and hips, and the side-lying position reaches both comfortably.
- Which trimester you are in — asked at booking and again in the room.
- Anything your own provider has flagged, in their words rather than yours.
- Whether you bruise easily, and whether you would rather skip any area entirely.
- If you would rather have unscented oil, or no oil on the hands and arms.
What does prenatal massage cost in Daly City?
$90 for 60 minutes and $130 for 90 minutes. Those are the whole prices: no membership, no booking fee, nothing added at checkout, and the rate is the same on a Sunday as on a Tuesday.
The 60 minute booking covers the back, hips, shoulders, legs and feet at a working pace. The 90 minute booking does the same with time to stay longer wherever the weight is being carried, which by the third trimester is usually the lower back and hips.
The 15 minute scalp add-on at $20 attaches to either, if the part you most want is quiet time with someone working on your head.
| Booking | Price | Position | What it covers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Prenatal — 60 min | $90 | Side-lying, supported | Back, hips, shoulders, legs, feet |
| Prenatal — 90 min | $130 | Side-lying, supported | The same, unhurried where the load is |
| Scalp add-on — 15 min | $20 | Side-lying | Attaches to either booking |
Where is the studio?
6175 Mission St, Daly City, CA 94014, open 10 AM to 9 PM every day. Book online through Square, or call (415) 916-3282 — for a first prenatal booking a call is often easier, because the questions above are quicker asked than typed.
We are on the Mission Street corridor in Top of the Hill, a few blocks inside the Daly City line. Metered street parking runs along Mission Street, free on Sundays and holidays, with residential side streets a block off the corridor — check the posted signs. Daly City BART is about half a mile west-southwest, and the Muni 14 Mission stops outside the door.
Linens are fresh for every guest and frequently used items are cleaned between sessions. If any of that matters to you more than usual right now, walk in any day between 10 AM and 9 PM and ask to see a room before you book.
Questions people ask
How much is prenatal massage in Daly City?
$90 for 60 minutes and $130 for 90 minutes. There is no membership, no booking fee, and the rate does not change at weekends. The 15 minute scalp add-on is $20 on top of either booking.
Do I lie face-down?
No. The whole session is worked side-lying, supported with cushions, on an extra-wide table. That position is the reason prenatal is its own booking rather than a standard massage with a pillow added.
Do the free hot stones and cupping come with it?
No. They come with most massages here at no extra charge, and they are deliberately left off prenatal. If you want warmth, ask and we will use a warm towel instead.
Which trimester do you take?
We ask which trimester you are in and set the position and pressure around it, but whether massage is appropriate for your pregnancy is a question for your own clinician, not for us. Book once they have said it is fine.
Can I ask for unscented oil?
Yes, and plenty of people do. Tell us when you book. Every treatment room also runs its own Levoit air purifier for the length of the session.
