How late can you book a massage in Daly City?

Until 9 PM, every day. We open at 10 AM and take the last booking of the evening so the session itself finishes at closing, which puts a 60 minute massage on the table by 8 PM, a 90 minute booking by 7:30 PM, and the longest 120 minute session by 7 PM.

Those hours hold seven days a week, holidays included, so a massage open late in Daly City is available on a Tuesday as readily as on a Saturday. The longer the booking, the earlier it has to begin.

What should you book after a day of screens and traffic?

Neck, Shoulder & Head Pain Relief, at $90 for 60 minutes or $130 for 90 minutes. It is the one booking on the menu built around the muscles a working day loads hardest: the base of the skull, the shoulder line, the upper back and the scalp, rather than an even sweep from heels to neck.

The hour covers that territory at a working pace. The longer booking buys repetition on whichever side has been carrying the load, which is usually the right call after a week of driving Interstate 280 in both directions. Pressure is set by what the tissue will take, and the therapist asks inside the first couple of minutes.

One practical note about pressure this late. Very deep work can leave you feeling worked-over for an hour or two afterwards, which is easier to absorb at noon than at half past nine at night. If you want firm hands and an early night both, ask for firm on the shoulders and moderate everywhere else, and say it before you lie down rather than halfway through.

NINDS describes tension-type headache as the most common form of headache, felt as a dull pressing band across both sides of the head rather than a throb on one side. On the massage side, NCCIH summarises a 2013 review of 12 studies and 757 people in which massage did better than inactive treatment for neck and shoulder pain, with the shoulder benefit short-term. Massage may ease the muscle tension around a headache, and anyone getting them repeatedly should talk to a clinician rather than book their way out of it.

Nobody arrives at eight in the evening wanting to answer twelve questions first. Say where it hurts and how hard you want it, and the hour starts.

What still fits if you arrive at seven or eight?

Everything on the menu is still available in the evening. What changes is how much of it fits before nine, and most evenings fall into one of the three windows below.

If you have an hour

The neck and shoulder work above is the after-work default. Swedish is $70 for 60 minutes when the day was more tiring than painful, Deep Tissue is $80 for the same hour if you want real pressure, and the Combo splits it between the body and the feet at $75 — that one has its own page for anyone driving up from Serramonte Center.

If you have ninety minutes

The same neck and shoulder booking stretches to 90 minutes, and Head Spa & Neck Therapy is the other option at that length: $168 for 60 minutes of head spa followed by 30 minutes on the neck and shoulders. It is booked at the studio or by phone rather than through the online catalog, so ring ahead if you want it the same evening.

If you have thirty

Deep Tissue at $45 is the only 30 minute booking on the menu. A 15 minute add-on of foot, scalp or abdominal work is $20 and attaches to whatever you have already booked, which is the cheapest way to lengthen a short evening.

How do you get to 6175 Mission St after work?

By BART, by the 14 Mission, or off Interstate 280 — all three land within walking distance. Sweet & Smile Massage is at 6175 Mission St, Daly City, CA 94014, in the Top of the Hill district, open 10 AM to 9 PM daily on (415) 916-3282.

  • Daly City BART is about half a mile west-southwest at 500 John Daly Blvd, usually a 10 to 15 minute walk. It is a large park-and-ride with roughly 2,000 spaces, which also works in reverse if you would rather leave the car there than circle the corridor.
  • The Muni 14 Mission runs along Mission Street outside the door and operates 24 hours as part of the All Nighter network, so a late appointment does not hang on catching a last bus.
  • Coming off Interstate 280, the John Daly Boulevard interchange sits under a mile west of us, next to the BART station. From there it is a short run east along Mission Street.
  • Daly City's own parking page puts meters at one dollar an hour, Monday through Saturday from 8 am to 6 pm, and says the hourly fee is not enforced on Sundays or legal holidays. Residential side streets sit a block off the corridor. Check the posted signs on whichever block you land on.

What is the room like at eight in the evening?

Warm, quiet, and running its own air filter. Every treatment room has a Levoit air purifier working on dust, pollen and airborne particles, which does more for an evening booking than people expect — a day out on the corridor comes in with you, on your clothes and in your hair.

The tables are oversized, wider and longer than a standard table, so your arms rest on the table instead of hanging over the edge. Linens and towels are fresh for every guest.

Hot stones, cupping and a hot compress are included at no extra charge on massage bookings, the neck and shoulder hour among them. They are left off prenatal, lymphatic and salt stone sessions, where heat and suction would pull against what the treatment is doing.

Can you walk in at eight, or should you book ahead?

Walk-ins are welcome whenever a room is free, and the last hour of the day is the least predictable one to gamble on. If you want a massage open late in Daly City tonight, the Square booking page shows live availability rather than taking a request, and the phone on (415) 916-3282 settles it faster than anything else.

Evening prices are the menu prices: an 8 PM booking costs what the same booking costs at 11 AM, and every figure on this page is listed in full on the Daly City rate card. Square gift cards cover an hour for somebody else, which is the usual answer for the person who keeps saying they never have time.

Does a massage at the end of the day help you sleep?

Some people find that it does, and the research on it is quieter than the marketing around it. NCCIH lists relaxation and mindfulness-based practices among the complementary approaches studied most closely for insomnia, and treats sleep hygiene as the foundation the rest sits on.

What a late booking reliably does is take back an hour you would otherwise have spent looking at a screen. Skip the heavy meal on the drive home, drink some water, and leave the rest of the evening empty. If the reason you are booking is that you have not slept properly in weeks, raise it with a clinician too — bodywork sits alongside sleep care rather than in place of it.

Questions people ask

How late can I get a massage in Daly City?

We close at 9 PM every day, so the last 60 minute session starts at 8 PM and the last 30 minute booking at 8:30 PM. A 90 minute appointment has to begin by 7:30 PM and a 120 minute one by 7 PM. The same hours apply at weekends and on holidays.

Do you take walk-ins in the evening?

Yes, whenever a room is free. Evenings and weekends fill from the online booking first, so calling (415) 916-3282 on your way over is worth the minute it costs. Square shows live availability if you would rather check without calling, and the front desk will tell you straight what is open tonight.

Which massage is best after a day at a desk?

Neck, Shoulder & Head Pain Relief, $90 for 60 minutes or $130 for 90 minutes. It concentrates on the base of the skull, the shoulder line, the upper back and the scalp instead of spreading an hour over the whole body. Hot stones, cupping and a hot compress are included at no extra charge.

Is there parking on Mission Street at night?

There is metered street parking along the corridor, with residential side streets a block behind it. Daly City's parking page lists meters at one dollar an hour, Monday through Saturday from 8 am to 6 pm, and says the fee is not enforced on Sundays or legal holidays. Check the posted signs where you park.

Can I come from Daly City BART?

Yes. The station is about half a mile west-southwest at 500 John Daly Blvd, usually a 10 to 15 minute walk up to Mission Street, and the Muni 14 Mission runs past our door around the clock. We are at 6175 Mission St, Daly City, CA 94014, open 10 AM to 9 PM daily on (415) 916-3282.

Do evening appointments cost more?

No. The menu price is the price at any hour: Swedish is $70 for 60 minutes, Deep Tissue $80, and Neck, Shoulder & Head Pain Relief $90. A 15 minute add-on of foot, scalp or abdominal work is $20 whenever you book it.

What is the longest session I can book in the evening?

A 120 minute Deep Tissue at $150, which has to start by 7 PM to finish at close. After that the longest option is a 90 minute booking beginning at 7:30 PM. For anything at the studio-booked end of the menu, such as Head Spa & Neck Therapy at $168, call ahead rather than booking online.
